Ben Frecon, PMP, CSM
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)

Earning my PMP certification was a significant milestone for me. I’ve always been passionate about Project Management, and after years of hands-on experience, achieving this certification was very rewarding. The process is no small feat—it requires verified real-world experience, mentorship, 35 hours of PMP coursework in addition to a Bachelor’s degree, and extensive prep for a rigorous four-hour exam that many don’t pass on their first attempt (but I did!).
Beyond earning the certification, maintaining it is just as important. A PMP requires 60 hours of continuing education every three years, which keeps me sharp and up to date on evolving project management methodologies, emerging technologies, and industry best practices. It’s more than just a credential—it’s a commitment to staying at the top of my game.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM)

Earning my CSM certification is a testament to my Agile expertise. A Scrum Master is a servant-leader who supports teams by ensuring they follow Agile principles while fostering a collaborative, productive work environment, coaching the team toward greater self-management and continuous improvement. The CSM also facilitates key events and manages the flow of communication within and across teams and removes impediments. A CSM’s focus is on strengthening team performance and enabling consistent delivery of customer-focused outcomes.

I’ve always been a strong advocate for Agile—it just makes sense. It’s an efficient, adaptable way to manage work; even projects that claim to follow a strict Waterfall methodology almost always contain Agile to a certain extent. Having a solid foundation in both Agile and traditional project management ensures I can navigate and adapt to any project environment effectively.
